The Cowboy Gallery

by Vicki LeBlanc

The Gallery contains images from the historic Kokernot o6 Ranch. These images are of real working cowboys during the spring and fall roundups.

Check out the Gallery.

These photographs will take you to a place in time worth remembering or experiencing.

This site was created to showcase some of my photographs that I have taken of the Kokernot o6 Ranch. Here you will find photos from 2011 – 2021 of the ranch, cattle, horses, the family and the cowboys. Some of these photographs are hanging in galleries, Big Bend conservation material, Big Bend museum, and publications.
This type of ranching with cowboys gathering cattle on horseback, branding, camping in tepee tents under a blanket of stars, on-site chuckwagon meals, etc. is fading away at a far faster pace than I like. Before you know it, this type of working cattle ranch will be gone forever. Most ranches today roundup with aircraft, vehicles and dogs.
Being up in the high country, waiting for the cowboys to round the mountains edge with a herd of cattle, is like stepping into an old western movie. The sounds of the wind, wildlife, cattle and the remuda will touch your soul.
We can’t bring back the past so therefore I document with my camera.

The collection of images are being offered to the public.  The artwork is produced on cotton paper, canvas or metal.  Numbered artist proofs are available.

The ranching of yesteryear is a rare find today.
